Virginia Law Fail

Virginia's been letting me down lately - first a state senator claims that women whose children are disabled are being punished for previous abortions, and now this latest debacle:

The Virginia law is being interpreted to state that if a woman has consented to sex at any point in the proceedings, then it's not rape.

Ugh.  I know the specifics of this

Reasons why I didn't apply to college anywhere without a coastline, or south of New York/Connecticut. Some shit you just do not find in liberal states with vastly diverse populations.

Or California, because we're too involved with the budget crisis to are about anything else.

Although these sorts of rules are a bit more common in the south, there is also plenty of idiocy elsewhere (the Connecticut law restricting the number of women who can live in a house together as anti-brothel legislation, for example).

I keep telling myself that if people like me move away then there's less of an opposing viewpoint represented, but it is a bit distressing...parts of VA (Charlottesville) are as liberal as you'll find most other places, but some nooks are...special.

Cool! I might be moving back to VA in the fall - I'm really starting to lean towards William and Mary for grad school!

I just think we should send the lawyer (god I hope it was a lawyer..my careful reading skills are poor) a message and tell him that if a man has the right to finish, a woman has the right to an orgasm-and that a man should not be allowed to finish until HIS job is done.

That or tell him if he wants to finish he should meet Rosie palm and her five friends.
