Thank you so much for doing this. I remember the very early days of the AIDS epidemic, when it seemed like there was this tsunami out there on the horizon and most people were standing around gawking uselessly, thinking they wouldn’t get it because, you know, it’s a GAY plague. When I heard about the case of the man who was sent home from the hospital in Dallas even though he had a 103 degree fever, I couldn’t help thinking, ‘Would they have sent home an ill white man who’d just been in Liberia?’

Thank you again and good luck.

This is it exactly. It's too easy to sit at home and hope other people pick up the pieces. The fact of the matter is my boyfriend and I both have the skill set so necessary to helping control this epidemic, or at least help people get better, and to not use it would be feel like hypocrisy. Neither of us are especially brave people but we felt we had to do something, and this is something we can do. You're not the first person to compare it to AIDS either, and that was very much in my mind when I made this decision.

Thank you so much for your kind thoughts.

Thank you! I've been touched by how many people that I've never spoken to before coming out to say thank you. We both really appreciate it.
