Then she’d see that it was the Slayer that was his, and not the other way around. He’d tried to argue, but she’d just nattered on in her bedlamite way about drops of blood like pomegranate seeds.

God I loved this -- the visual of the pompegranate pips, so like little jeweled drops of blood, and the reversal of the myth here, are very, very cool.

He closed his eyes and swallowed, remembering her blood, so incredibly potent. And that wasn’t the only place he had drawn it. He tipped his head back letting the bloodlust and possessiveness wash over him, making his muscles tighten and his cock swell. He could feel the demon coming, prickling up his spine like tiny claws, but he shook it off and stared down at her through narrowed eyes. She’d been so fucking brave. He’d never had it like that, a woman that matched him for strength and fierceness, but so alive, and all his.

There was no point in denying it any longer. The terrible truth was, he’d rather fuck the Slayer than kill her.
And that's where my ability to produce cogent comments ( ... )

I'm glad I sold it *whew* To my mind, they may not be 'puppet mastered' per se, but the spell has created an emotional connection between them, 'real' or not, that makes them susceptible.

Fanfiction often casts Buffy as the queen of denial, but this pitch perfect, in voice self examination reveals a polar opposite Buffy: "She slapped the wet tile with her hands, hard. She just didn’t feel it, all fake or puppet-mastery. Her stomach twisted a little as she realized why-she already knew this feeling ( ... )

I actually talked about this with my beta. Buffy is supposed to be the Queen of Denial, and I was worried that it was OOC. Maybe it is :) or maybe S2 Buffy hasn't been so badly burned that she is completely terrified of her feelings, especially for a vampire.

Yay! I'm glad I had you going when she was headed straight for Angel. That seems like more conventional behavior from Buffy: a) have problem b) form actiony plan of action c) act before thinking it through.

Thanks for your fb!

Early S2 Buffy would still be "Carpe Diem! Because tomorrow you might die!" Buffy in a lot of ways, I think, so I'm not finding her terribly OOC. I think you've convincingly portrayed enough attraction between her and Spike that I'm not having any trouble finding her actions believable. I love how you've written her as just starting to tap into her full power as the slayer.

Also? Hot! Can't forget to mention that!;)

Thanks, it seems like I didn't really see her get all secretive 'til post-Angel's return from hell.

*fans you* :) glad you thought so.

I love Buffy's power, and the way she chooses to use it. I really do. I think that's a lot of what attracts me to Spuffy. He really adores the power in her, even if he doesn't get what she does with it.
