Dahlia Update

The dahlia trip was wonderful. The drive up the coast is breath-taking and the weather was perfect. The Mister laughs when I squeak in fear as I negotiate Highway 101. In places it clings to the side of a crumbling cliff twenty stories above the ocean. It's OK that he laughs because I only do it to make him laugh, but all that immense blue

My old stomping grounds! I'm from Astoria (actually from Gearhart, a few miles south) and spent far too much of my life driving 101. And I lived in Portland for quite a few years! It's such a pretty drive up the coast from your part of the world.

Gorgeous dahlias. And I kind of like the coral wall. It sort of fits in the area, doesn't it? And cheerful in the long, dark winters. My grey with white trim house looks so gloomy in january!
