hematocrite has to do with the amount of iron in your blood, which can correspond to the amount of blood you have. normal is about 40, but mine sits pretty consistently at about 32, and it is nothing to worry about. they dont let you donate blood if it is below about 35 or so, and recommend you see a doctor if it falls below 29. 24 sounds pretty decent if you lost a ton of blood.
