I just (finally) read Twisted by Laurie Halse Anderson and loved it. You may have already read it since she doesn't live too far from you, relatively speaking.
I'm reading a very good Canadian book right now -- Crow Lake by Mary Lawson. Adult book about how a horrible tragedy in childhood shapes a woman's life.
My book is out but I always feel awkward recommending it. (You might enjoy it if you like stories with a WWII tie-in.)
