I believe I finally have slept the number of hours equivalent to the time spent in the O.R. At least I know that I am no longer in that festering sewer that is Korea. Had I been, I would have been woken up after three hours to Max's intolerable Toledo twang.

Judging from what I read in the papers, they came pretty damn close recently.

But I was kidding - I'm quite happy with nursing, thank you very much. Political life (and secret service agents) are quite safe.

I'm trying not to think about my own family, and whether they are...you know.

They... really? I must catch up, then. Hopefully the local library or bookstore isn't a crumbled mess on the ground.

I know, Margaret [deleted]I worry the same thing all the time. There's no logical or empirical way that they can be alive,[/deleted]but it makes little sense that we are here now, no? If we have -- whatever we have to get here -- I'm certain others from the past can be here as well.

So I've heard. Which is good - I knew a nurse back when who wanted to be a doctor. She was training for it, but we all knew it was going to be hard.

Not that I'd want it, mind you. I'm quite happy being a nurse.

I always believed a woman would make the best lawyer. I had tried to convince my uncle of it before, but... well, he would be out of prison, now.

President though? ...Well, I suppose I could imagine worse. My dear sister wanted to marry worse.
