A point of reference

I have a new diagnosis, and one that I struggled with when it was first dumped on me. It's a loaded term. It calls to mind "crazy" people, standing on building ledges or writing on walls. My mother is a schizophrenic, my son suffers from depression/anxiety disorder - to some extent I 'understand' mental illness. I'm so pleased that the meds/therapy are working. All we can do is enjoy each day at a time, and try to find our normal.

I'm so sorry you have to deal with this, but glad you have a good support network. I have several bipolar relatives, and this sounds very familiar.

So sorry you had to go through all that, but it sounds like maybe you're on the right track, treatment-wise. And bonus if you feel right about the diagnosis.
