It was spectacular but still unfulfilling?

I blew up a transformer that was shielding a blanket of necrotic ley lines from the sight of my spiritually attuned fellow PC, blew it right to hell. And by hell I mean it flew off the building towards a bus full of innocent bystanders. I flew down like a shot and blasted it with lightning, not hitting it with enough force to knock it off course. So, the people died, I died and the transformer tower thing exploded magnificently, bathing the ground in fire and slag.

Spectactular.

But still... unfulfilling.

Probably because heroes don't usually sacrifice themselves in failure, huh?

Well, the guy running the game isn't huge on comic book mythos, really. He's a little bit literal about how much damage a lightning blast thrown by a heroic type will do to the bad guys, despite us having conversations about the autonomy of comic book murder. So, the dramatic failure death for our intrepid hero... was kind of a drain.
