I want to learn how to play DnD. I played a few RPG's once or twice in my early teens. That has been a LONG time ago. I have three books, a bunch of dice, and a crown royal bag, and feel equipped and ready to learn but there are no other begginers out there. At least not that I can find. So I'll probably never play. It sucks. I can't start off gamming with power gamers. I have no idea what I am doing.

You should start off with character gamers. I'm trying to run another game that none of us have played, so I used the rules to make a character and roll myself through scenarios to familiarize with the setting before I get my players involved. So, when we do play, there will be some dead guy in the corner of a room that I rolled dice over for hours and they won't have a clue about the ordeal.
