The transport-strike is over, and I´ve got me a nice big chunk of brunost in the fridge again:) So what else is new? Last weekend we had several days off work, and Simon came to visit. My son, that is. I haven't seen him since august last year, and that's too long for a mum to be without her baby. I'm afraid I squished him flat xx times a day. Erm ( Read more... )

Don't even pretend to be offended, you told us all sorts of things like that you eat.
Brains, tongues,thingstoohorribletomention.

Irene, really, you are such a cool person, I'd love to know you in RL..camping and painting at the same time, I know I'd have nice paintings to decorate with, knowing you.
I love artistic friends.
Im so glad you got to see your son. They grow up so quick at that age don't they?
They become men overnight it seems.
I am happy to see you cheer up a bit.You deserve it. Have fun on your trip.

Would love to see pics of ure street, Nomade. You should start taking macro pics of spring signs....maybe give ureself a theme, even a color, and start taking oNLY macro pics of the things that make u feel like spring is here, so u can look at them in the winter....
Artistic friend indeed!!! :) You should set up a nice site and sell some of ure watercolors...I'm sure it could work as a little "side" business....what do u think?

Mwaha...brunost is cheese, erm, sort of...brown(brun) and a little sweet. Good stuff on a piece of bread in the morning, and even for lunch. Another one of those ethnic things.. you probably have to be norwegian to like it. Altho, a US exchange student that stayed with us one summer 25 years ago LOVED it, and stuffed her suitcase full of brunost when she returned home. Along with dried fish. What her clothes must have smelled like when she arrived in Ohio, I can only guess...

Back to the trip we had...Nina has a musty old camper right outside
Stavern The weather has been nice and sunny, and all we did all weekend was sleep, eat, drink beer, wine and chat while stretching out in the sun. Pure laziness for 3 days. I loved it. Didn´t get too much painting done tho. Sorry to disappoint you:) I was too buzy drinking and getting a tan.

Not really cheese - it's basically made by mixing milk (or cream) and whey, which is a by-product from making cheese, and cooking this on low heat for a long time. The brown colour comes from the milk-sugar (lactose) in the milk caramelising. Personally I favour fløtemysost; I don't like geitost at all, and barely can stand Gudbranddalsost.
