I mean, we studied Hardy's 'The Mayor of Casterbridge' and it was brilliant. But with a lesser teacher? It would have been painfully slow, horribly dull and definitely irrrelevant.

I am one of the (apparent) few who didn't do Of Mice and Men at school; I think I read it for translation at uni.
