KIFUMI Officially Leaves BORN

Well, I'm sure we all hoped it wouldn't happen, but it seems KIFUMI has officially left the band. There is an official notice going out now via blogs and OHP. I'll look closer at them later to see what everyone is saying. The official word continues to be listed as personal reasons. BORN will continue with the current four members.

Pure speculation, really. He could have a wife and kid or a dad with Alzheimer's for all we know... there's no way PSC would ever tell us. Still, your scenario is most probably the real reason for the departure. I almost wish the Japanese entertainment industry would really just spit out the truth of the matter instead of being vague and hedging, but then again, the indirect is standard practice.

Agreed... they are no longer in a type of holding pattern, and they can move forward full force. Mio isn't a bad support bassist, so maybe they will let him loose a little to play more forcefully.

Ryoga made an interesting blog post today about the departure that I would love to see translated. I don't know if I will be able to do it, but it's worth looking at if you get a chance. He might end up being more affected by KIFUMI's leaving than even we might suspect at first glance. Then again, Ryoga tends to be a bit moody, so any change would deeply impact him. (Not that I think KIFUMI's departure wouldn't affect any of them just as deeply.)
