Does anyone have any literature recommendations? I'm not picky, but I don't know where to start. I don't really know what I like, either. I found a poetry book, and even though I never really 'got' poetry, I found this part to have some interesting imagery.

That many exclaimation marks must be a sign of an insane mind.

I am not a particular reader of literature, I admit, but I found a Roundworld writer by the name of Gogol. His book called Dead Souls was quite... interesting, if, unfortunately, unfinished.

Ahahaha. Definitely lol'd at that. Moloch and Dexter are BFFs. True story. born_in_blood January 30 2010, 20:33:16 UTC
Yeah, the whole poem is pretty insane, honestly. I think it's because of that that I kept reading.

What's Dead Souls about? ...and why didn't he finish?

win. :D - this was literally me going 'bookshelf. what would swing read?' pleasesmirk January 30 2010, 20:40:49 UTC
I think you have to be insane to be a poet. Probably comes in the job description.

It's about this man who goes around somewhere in the Roundworld, with serfs and peasants and that kind of thing. And he buys dead peasants off landowners before they've registered them dead (because there was some tax thing), and creates an entire farm and society of entirely non-existant workers and land. And makes money off it. It's a very clever conspiracy and the man's clearly both a devious criminal and a con-artist.

I think he didn't finish it because he died. Or... I don't remember. Something about a fire.

Wait, how do you build a society from dead people?

I'm not really well-versed enough to know what's good and what's bad. I liked the way it read, though.

Nah, I like Howl alright. There's a book you might like, Rags of my Soul. Book of poems by this Middle Eastern guy. Makes for an interesting read.

Oh, great. I'd like that, as long as it's not some rambunctious meat market or something.

Who're you? I'm Dexter Morgan.

Armand St. Just. We just talk about the book. I started it, in memory of a friend who has left us. But I've been lazy since the holidays. We need to meet again.
