Did not go for a run this morning, however I did get out of bed to do French homework. Do you think its strange that I would rather do French homework that go for a run? I do... and yet now that my French homework is completed I can come home tonight and relax (read: paint) before going to see Propaghandi tonight! I totally forgot until just now ( Read more... )

both french homework and running are equally terrible in my mind.

lucky on the propagandi front!!!!! publically subsidized privately profitably!?

i fully support the AC. Last night i could barely sleep, sweating like an obese warpig on the sheets.

I'm going to see Propagandhi tomorrow night!! Squeeee! Enjoy the show! Have you seen them live before?

We had a window air conditioner in the past because our house was just deadly hot alllll summer and I was worried about the pets! But yeah it made me feel like I wasn't practicing what I preach.

Look at it this way...if you're sweaty and grumpy, you'll be less likely to reduce, reuse, recycle...or something! ;]

Yeah! I think your right... and I just got home from work, our apartment is disgusto hot, and sweet sweet darren had the thing already installed in the window so we turned it on. The difference in our room is already WAY less hot. So I don't think we will actually have to keep it on very long at all (plus I sleep on the side closest to the air condition hehehe!)

My current apartment came with a built in AC, and although it's not something I would ever deliberately buy, I will admit that it is WONDERFUL for sleeping on excessively hot nights.

My understanding is that newer ones are significantly less terrible for the environment.Last summer I ran mine quite often, and it honestly only added MAYBE $3 to my hydro bill per month. I'm sure that energy consumption-wise, my refrigerator is probably a far worse offender.

Enjoy the blissful sleep!

Yar I think you're right on the energy consumption Pam... to run it for a bit to cool down our bedroom probably uses less than keeping our fans going ALL the time.

Last night's sleep was awesome... I was all sweaty from the propaghandi show came into my hot apt., then went into my sealed up bedroom and it was like heaven!
