I remember being in Russia when 8x02 came out, and being so frantically excited about it I had to go to the bathroom to calm down, because I didn't think I could stand to sit there for another three hours drinking tea with my host mothers before I got to watch it. XD THIS ALSO BEING the point where I decided I could not to that country and SPN at the same time, and just started saving it for when I got back to the US. Good thing, too, because 8x03 and 8x04 would not have been worth the effort it would have taken to acquire them! 8x04's only crime is incredible boringness, I suppose, and 8x03 is so unmemorable I've had to watch it at least four times before I could even remember that it was an episode that existed. But 8x02 is beautiful!! <333333

Sam is just not Sam in 8.3 and it kills me trying to reconcile what we're getting here and what the fans understand about the character that the writers are completely missing!

What were you doing in Russia, and how long where you there? I think missing Supernatural would have made me nuts...

I was studying Russian language and literature, and I was there for the first half of S8! My relationship to S8 ended up being so fragmented idek, haha, because the State of RL did not really allow for much time with the second half of S8, either. XD That might be why I have close to no relationship to it to this day!

THAT WON'T HAPPEN WITH S10, THOUGH NOPE. SPN IS TOO PRECIOUS TO BE WAYSIDED EVER AGAIN!

it just seems awfully soon for Dean being back from being a monster-killing machine to have him be so sympathetic.

He was doing his monster-killing alongside a vampire who didn't eat people, so it seems a little less implausible in that light -- to me, anyway. ;)

8.02... man, I love Linda Tran. ♥

That could be influencing him, you're right.
