this is a spontaneous post

In brief:

The good.
I have finally watched Zombieland...and it was awesome! I think it was woodchoc_magnum that said it was a great movie, yes? And I didn't listen? *facepalm* I was all, 'omg, blood, guts and gore, no thanks!'

But I've seen the light and I am so overwhelmed by how good it is! Abigail Breslin? FLAWLESS. Emma Stone? My new girlcrush!  ( Read more... )

QUICK DRIVE BY COMMENT BEFORE I GO TO SLEEP:

music rec: Passion Pit. I love them, and I figure you'll like them because I love the artists you mentioned. I'd check out "The Reeling" and "Sleepyhead".

aha. I have actually wrote two fics in the past few days, but they are so angsty they make me want to vomit. Here's one if you get super bored: I guess I should mention it's Glee, about Karofsky, and there's major MAJOR triggers for things of the eating disorder sort. Idk, ANGST is my life.

Okay, I'm going to sleep now >_>

Hi, darling, thank you! I appreciate you putting off sleep in order to give me a fic AND music fix! *snuggles* You are entirely too good to me! :D

And I'm so glad you actually wrote and posted angst relating to Glee and Karofsky, 'coz I'm sure the writers won't actually explore all those avenues- unless I'm giving them too little credit, I'm willing to be pleasantly surprised!- so I'll def check it out.

Sweet dreams, bb! *squish*

You're welcome! You're awesome so you deserve it! *huggles*

Thank you! There is just so much opportunity there to make such an amazing story line and give a lot of development to Karofsky's character. I'm saying that RM didn't hire Max Adler, who was the lead in his school's choir for nothing. Just sayin'.

Aww, how sweet are you! ♥

Ooh, I did not know he was in school choir! This offers some fodder for speculation, like...hey, maybe he'll sing! But what song could possibly apply to him? The big tough bully that beats up on kids and is reluctantly attracted to Kurt and struggling with his sexuality? I'm drawing a blank right now... *ponders*

Oh, and I just read this interview:

Apparently, the support is so strong, there’s even a faction of fans who want Kurt and Karofsky to be a couple ( ... )

I was staring at it going "That drawing is way bigger then i remember it being..." then i realized your uploaded made the lines blurry so it seemed bigger. >.> You can use my image url if you want. I'll stop being nit-picky now.

I love how people are not allowed to have opinions on anything unless it is positive! How dare anyone not share the same preference as someone else? Criticism is totally unwarranted and offenders must be shot.
OMG I KNOW! Some people in the big finish fandom are CRAZY and will bitch at you for writing something negative about an audio you PAID FOR and are writing about in your LOCKED journal where no one from the company will ever see what you wrote. I've been defriended for staying "the story was good but the animation looked lame" [/rant] Sorry I felt i could rant about it here but the BF fandom is so small everyone knows everyone else so I cant talk about it on my flist >.>
Yes, people take things way too personally. Like if you insult what they love you are insulting them...

I desperately need something ( ... )

LMAO, I find it so endearing that you were staring at the pic, trying to work out what was wrong with it. And you're right, I really noticed the difference when I compared the photo I uploaded and yours! (I was trying to be nice and not hotlink, btw, but it's kind of you to let me use your url, it does look so much better!)

'k, first of all, you can ALWAYS feel free to rant with me, all right? (I feel it's kind of flattering, actually, that people trust me enough to be able to vent about whatever's upsetting them when they feel like they can't talk about it elsewhere)

Second, THAT IS WHACK, jeez! I think it's crazy that they would pay you out for offering valid criticism about something! Especially if you paid money for it! If you didn't like it, you should totally be free to say what you feel. *shakes head* And that's the stupidest reason for defriending anyone, ugh.

no one from the company will ever see what you wroteStill, though, why shouldn't you be free to speak your mind? There are official critics in the newspapers and ( ... )

*sigh* everyones a little bet crazy to be in fandom but some people are way more crazy then others. There is like good crazy and bad crazy.

NEVER tell your parents about your illegal actives..

I make an LJ post once a day, does that mean all my posts are spontaneous? I sorta sit down and throw things together.

And hey, that's the longest comment I've seen from you! :D
Thats because its about Big Finish :P

See icon. :D

And yes, I like to think of myself as the good crazy, but oh, I have way too much experience with the bad crazy. :O

NEVER tell your parents about your illegal actives

Lol, she doesn't mind what I do (except now and then she mutters about being taken down by the cops), because that's how we watch our shows before they air on tv, it's just she doesn't want any record of it on her personal laptop.

I really hope the tech guys don't really go through all her internet history. They might be a bit weirded out by some of the fanfic I read... :P

I make an LJ post once a day, does that mean all my posts are spontaneous?

No, I don't think so, 'coz that's your MO, it's your process, it's not out of the ordinary for you- whereas with me, I take a few days to write up most of my posts, so this counted as spontaneous because I wrote it directly into lj and then posted it, rather than doing it in word and polishing it a while. (I'm compulsive that way...)

I love when people love my writing, I can live with it when people dont. As long as its done respectfully, and it opens the window to a real conversation I actually like it. I dont need to hear "Emily would never do that". Emily is a fictional character and she's seen through millions of eyes that then filter her through brains based on millions of different experiences. I much prefer "I couldnt quite get behind what Emily did, what made you go that route?" because now we're talking and you've still expressed yourself but I get to as well and that's really important to me, Dont just slam and run, leave the door open and allow discussion to take place. I'm not saying you didnt. You havent left me many comments but I surely dont see you as the slam and run type. I'm just rambling ( ... )

Emily is a fictional character and she's seen through millions of eyes that then filter her through brains based on millions of different experiencesExactly, that. I don't expect every single character to be exactly the same in fanfic- because they experience different things and their relationship evolve differently depending on the writer's preferences or how they shape their interactions with other people and what life experiences they have, etc. I find it way more fascinating- well, obviously, the differences are to a certain point (I wouldn't be interested in reading a cheerful bouncy Hotch, for instance, that's def Garcia's personality and it'd be weird for me to see him using slang like kids these days and whatnot), unless the author's really talented and takes the time to explore why certain differences have appeared. That's why I love epic-length fics, where one thing happens and the author explores how that influences the character and shapes their personality, when it's well-done, it's just breath-taking ( ... )

I love that icon too....Emily is love.

I get what you're saying about changing personalities not being your thing. I just write them from so many ages, stages, and such, there is a lot going on in my head. I love The Grove and I'm glad you enjoyed it as well. All of my fic doesnt have to be your cup of tea....I love hearing from you when you do find something good, or even if you didnt quite like it. But perhaps Thicker than Water might be something you're interested in.

I know you were looking for fic recs as well. They're young again but its completely different than The Grove. Some of it might be hard to swallow, give it a look if you want. I actually posted this on bau_fic and people who never read my stuff came in to discuss. That was pretty neat. Its relatively gen fic, with a shade of a pairing I wont say here. Click on it.

The Sundays are the best! I keep hoping they're gonna surprise us with a new album...I've run those three into the ground. Summertime might be one you enjoy as well. Its from their last album, ( ... )

'k, I've saved it to my usb, so I'll check that out and let you know how it goes. I'm in the mood for something AU-ish and genfic sounds good. Though I'm curious about this other pairing...it's not Emily/someone other than Hotch, is it? 'coz that probably wouldn't go down so good with me...

I'm really getting into these guys now, totally gotta find a d/l now, or maybe my library has them. Will investigate... *wanders off*

lol oh dear, I use "rubber" all the time, I guess it's an English-only thing, gonna make sure I never do again when I'm in the US now ;)

Music recs, hmmm. I'm going to assume you've already heard Bon Iver, but I'll say just in case.
Laura Marling is amazing. Singing back-up on that song is Marcus Mumford of Mumford & Sons, who I happen to be aquainted with *namedrops* ;D My two favourite songs of theirs.
Vienna Teng is sublime and such a poet.
I like soporific acoustic songs if you couldn't tell, sorry if that's not your cuppa tea :p

LMAO, I know, it's so shocking when you realize you've been unwittingly saying something embarrassing! Damn culture differences...we all speak English and yet there's so much to learn!

Bon Iver...I've heard the Twilight song, obviously, and I liked it but I wasn't able to find their music on my d/l site. I'll go have another look and see if anyone's uploaded their music in the meantime.

1) Mumford & Sons! I love the two songs that've been at the top of the charts here, DUH, self, why have you not gotten their music already!
2) YOU'RE ACQUAINTED WITH MARCUS MUMFORD? That is so cool! *envies* Namedrop away, that's awesome! :D

Vienna Teng. OH GOD. I heard the first line of the second song and I love her already! :D

We obviously share the same taste, excellent. ^_^ *hugs* Thanks very much for adding to my musical library!

*gasp* Bon Iver's twilight song is probably the worst one they've done. You need to improve that situation immediately bb. omg they are incredible.

First, download their EP Blood Bank.
The titular song is probably my favorite of theirs.
Then the snow started falling
We were stuck out in your car
You were rubbing both of my hands
Chewing on a candy bar
You said, "Ain't this just like the present
To be showing up like this"
As a moon waned to crescent
We started to kiss

Ugh these lyrics I CANNOT EVEN.
I can't even explain to you how it makes me feel, I am so in love wih it. There is not a better feeling in the world than listening to it while walking on a winters morning. Skinny Love is also amazing.

Then download their (only, atm) album For Emma, Forever Ago. My favourites from that are probs Flume and Creature Fear.

People can be irritating, it's called freedom of speech for a reason, you don't need to jump down someone's throat for expressing opinions.

Fis incredibly frustrating. I've taken to Gen!fic because I can never find anything I like with my favorite ships. That said, I can try to help you. I'm not entirely sure if we read fic in the same fandoms, but I'll throw what I've got for recs at you. xD

The Death God Alliance: It's a gen fic, crossover with between the Percy Jackson books and the Kane Chronicles series. (Greek and Egyptian gods, respectively). Out of all the PJO fic I've read, this is closest to the original series tone.

Tabula Rasa is Ben 10: Alien Force and one of the only good fics in that fandom. (*sigh*) It's also the only time I've ever enjoyed amnesia!fic because the writer has a really good grasp on the character. Although the writer's Ben isn't QUITE as obnoxious on the here as he is on the show.

Gumshoe - is SyFy's Alice, and features the Hatter as a Private Investigator. Great fic, but it's incomplete and has ( ... )

Thank you for that, I totally agree and wish more people would see it that way. Not liking the same thing as someone else should not be such a huge deal. But well, HP fandom, so much wankage. *eyeroll*

And yay for recs! Like I said, I honestly don't care if it's not from my fandoms, so I appreciate you taking the time to list these for me! I love Burton's Alice but have not seen the SyFy version, so that fic'll be interesting to see!

YAY MUSIC. Thanks so much, darling! *hugs*

I've seen both versions; and although the custumes in the Burton Alice were lovely, I'm incredibly partial to Syfy Alice. Mainly because I Have a huge amount of love for Andrew Lee Potts, who plays Hatter in this. And, despite being a bit slow, the plot really is wonderful.

NP! *hugs back* Enjoy the music, I tried to put a little bit of everything in there. xD I'm always making mixes and things for friends so I have the habit of just throwing random crap in there without realizing what I'm adding. Hopefully you didn't get any duplicate songs!

Ooh, yes, I adore the costumes, I wish I could buy and wear them somewhere... *sighs wistfully*

I'll have to check out Syfy Alice someday, enough people have been squeeing over it. But my hesitation is because Alice is actually engaged, I believe? I'm not so fond of shows where the chick's already with someone and then there's angst when I want to ship her with someone else and it gets all messy...

Aagh, I have all this music I d/l and have not been able to put onto my mp3 yet. *headdesk* I need to remember to bring my mp3 cord to the library when I come use the internet, it's so frustrating that I keep forgetting it!
