'They say the best acting comes from life...'

For the longest time, when I saw the skillet scene in Prodigal Father, I had this nagging sense of familiarity but couldn’t recall why. This is so random, even for me, but I finally realized this…
'Summerlee whacked me with a skillet' )

marguerite krux, the lost world, netty, john roxton

Lol, why does everyone in this show eventually get promoted to royalty?

Because they are.

I'll note that Marguerite at least gets a king madly in love with her, a proper kingdom, though we never see it, and a whole new wardrobe. *squees at the pretty*

Roxton? Gets a muddy village. *snickers* And a depressed wet-blanket of a bride sick in love with another man. Oh, the inequality. :P

Well, I don't think he was in love with her, so much as infatuated with her. She so totally deserves it though, like her comment in "Ice Age" when she thought she deserved hoards of adoring servants or some such.

And, well, Roxton's already a Lord. So, it's fair enough.

Infatuated/in love. *shrugs* Smitten. *g* He had a lot to offer. :D I really did have a soft spot for Gawain, he was so much more adorable and honorable and lovable than that brat in The Chosen One, ack. *stabs him*

'I've always believed I should be in a palace with legions of loyal followers...'

[Where do I sign up?]

For I have nothing better to do than look up random Marguerite quotes. And I say that in a tone that implies I'm being sarcastic, but I'm really not. Sad but true. :D

Lol, speaking of his title, you just reminded me to wiki 'Marquess of Queensbury', which never made sense to me. Now I want to edit their entry to include Lord John Roxton. ^_^

It wasn't piranhas that cut his hair...it was BEAVERS!!!

Will totally looks so much better, hotter with shorter hair. The longer hair was just bad.

ETA:
Marguerite ALWAYS got the best lines. My personal favs,

Could (yes folks it actually is COULD) this day get any better.
And
Don't worry about me, Gugna Din can take care of herself. :D

Lol, I know, beavers are the accepted theory, it was a reference to Speckles' new cracky theory:

Isn't it amazing that Will was suddenly five years younger, when Tribune pulled him out of the river?! I know what it was that did it...Magic Piranhas. *nods* Marguerite can schmooze anyone. Even a piranha. (She wanted a prettier Roxton.)

:D I adore the image of Marguerite siccing piranhas on Roxton to give him a timely haircut. ♥ 'Just the hair, mind you, don't touch the face!'

Oh, Will. *sighs dreamily* Definitely hotter. Was the season one hair something the writers came up with? Because I don't understand why you'd keep it if you didn't have to!

Could (yes folks it actually is COULD) this day get any better.

I get a kick out of the bloopers when Rachel says that line, then turns around and promptly whacks into the camera guy. LMAO.

Okay, do you know what this Gunga Din reference means? My mother and grandmother tell me there was some sort of movie, or whatever, but they couldn't explain the reference. *woes*

It's part of a line from a poem by Kipling. That's all I know.

Not sure what it means really, but it's just funny.

LOL. Seriously, is there video of this play somewhere? And I know how this over eager play thing works, because it's always so much easier to just actually hit the person instead of pretending to hit them. Daniel and I used to have these goofy little plays occasionally.

And the magic piranhas? They deserve to be sainted for fixing that god awful season one hair.

Bwahaha, I'm pretty sure there isn't, though I wish, it'd be hilarious to see it again. Aww, you and brother put on plays? Any footage of that lying around? :P

I really wish I'd started doing production early at high school because I had two small roles in Years 10 and 11 but my parents discouraged me in my final year because of my studies, and I always regretted that. *woes* I adored being on stage.

*snorts* Saint Piranha. Sounds more like a title of Marguerite's, lol. Which reminds me, you totally have to do an icon with 'St Marguerite the Sweet' one of these days... >:D

I dunno, but if there is, I need to find it and burn it.

I took a theater class for one of my years of high school, it was a lot of fun really, except that it was mostly conceptual learning because of the home schooling bit, lol. Other than that it was awesome, and I did eventually get to use some of the skills I learned.

Oh dear. I forgot about that one. :D Will try and work on that tomorrow.
*points up* How's this one? Any changes I should make?

WHEE! *dances* This is brilliant! That fits them so perfectly! *snurches*

I dunno, but if there is, I need to find it and burn it.

As in, burn to share with the rest of us or burn as in 'destroy to ensure NOBODY ever sees it again'? :P

Where did the home schooling come in? O.o

And hmm, I don't think I really learnt any skills for life from Drama. Except to avoid squirrels bearing loaves of bread. Which isn't all that readily applicable in everyday life, you know. I'm curious what skills you got to apply, though.

Oh dear. I forgot about that one.

Ha, so I did mention it earlier? I couldn't remember. And I figured badgering you about it couldn't hurt... :P

Hey, Marguerite nearly got to be the queen bee of a male alien harem!!! XDXDXDXD

Roxton totally got unexpectedly hot in Season 2. I suspect losing a few pounds and toning up, and getting his hair cut did wonders for him XDXDXD Regardless, Will Snow's still an attractive man... until he weighs like 300 lbs. (I'm shallow - I admit it!)

Ohhh, I block out memories of that male harem. *shudders*

Gawain in Camelot was sweet and adorable and I'd've totally married him; I understand her turning him down, though:
'I'm old enough to be your-'
'Mother?'
'Sister is more what I had in mind...'

But that harem freaked me out bad. Gah. What's the point in being queen if you don't get to enjoy it, right?

I suspect losing a few pounds and toning up, and getting his hair cut did wonders for him XDXDXD

TRUFAX. He was never overweight, but he did get into shape as the show went on. I mean, contrast his shirtless scene in Prodigal Father with the beach scene in The Knife. Soooo much hotter! And he's also noticeably toned in The Games, though sadly not shirtless. :P

Yes, we're shallow. There's nothing wrong with appreciating eye candy. ^_^ Or ditching it once it's stale. >:D

Oh Gawain was awesome!!! He was just so adorable - like pinch your cheeks so. But you know, it would be interesting to see what happens if Marguerite had met up with him five years from now. It'd be a different, and more manly Gawain, and also not willing to take no for an answer hehehe. Then Roxton would have to go fight for his woman... AGAIN XDXD

Or ditching it once it's stale. >:D

... Or plump XD hehehehe

But see, that's why I originally hated Camelot, I thought it was played for laughs rather than drama- contrast sweet innocent Gawain with the Giant or the Mad Musician that pursued Veronica, or any number of other hostile antagonists the characters faced.

I never got a sense of threat from Gawain, I just wanted to ruffle his hair and pinch his cheeks, as you say. :P I wanted to see a tough ruthless guy that wanted Marguerite and didn't care who he had to step on, and instead I got a cuddly puppy of a boy.

Of course, with rewatching, I came to appreciate him so it doesn't rankle too much now. The kid's so funny, 'Then die you must'. *giggles* I'm pretty sure he was just playing...

Then Roxton would have to go fight for his woman... AGAIN XDXD

LOL. Ain't that the truth.

Tangential, but that reminds me of a line in this awesome fic somewhere [post-ep for The Secret, I think], he goes, 'I'm tired of every lunatic on the Plateau putting a knife to your throat or a gun to your head', heh. Keeping Marguerite out of trouble is a full ( ... )
