Great book reviews :) I couldn't get into Wondrous Strange...I'm thinking I'll have to try again!

Maybe you're not an urban fantasy kind of person?

I have to space out reading books about faeries because they're not really my thing and the market seems oversaturated with them. So for a book about faeries to rate 5 owls, I have to be very impressed.

Thanks for reading the reviews. :-)

Wow, Barb, you've been busy! I'm so burned out on children's books right now, I've been reading stuff my mother gives me. Now that's desperate!

Sometimes a genre becomes the hot trend and then all books on the subject start to sound alike. I can understand why some publishers want something fresh and different.

How did I miss this post? Oh- right- I was just back from my retreat and off to a JASNA event on the second of May, and must not have remembered to catch up on blogs. Drat!

SAFE AS HOUSES sounds great.

M tried to read WONDROUS STRANGE and couldn't get into it - she didn't know her Shakespeare OR her Arthurian legends, and I think perhaps at least a little knowledge on both counts is required in order to really enjoy the book. But I'm glad you loved it, too!

I can't recall - did you read CHALICE by Robin McKinley? It's not for everyone (that's for sure) and it requires a bit of time and effort on the part of the reader, but I adored it.
