Soccer

I should be studying. Really, I should. I even have my lessons right next to me in front of the television, and instead, I'm watching England/USA. What can I say, the match is just so much more interesting than France/Uruguay yesterday. I guess that's the advantage of supporting two teams: you can choose one or the other depending on whose doing ( Read more... )

Soccer is always better than homework. XD Well, unless you're playing and you completely suck, in which case maybe homework is more doable. XD

I haven't played soccer in the longest time. I used to like it, even though I was no good. I mean, nobody ever told me (and I realized well over eighteen) that you're supposed to kick the ball with the side of your foot…

I only played it in school when I was required to. It was a good team sport, but I really sucked at kicking it in the right direction, lol. The side of the foot, what a valuable lesson. XD

Yeah, I felt so disappointed when I learned that tip so late. Of course, my father never played soccer so he couldn't know, but when I was in school (granted, it was primary school), a teacher could have told me!

Ah, I've never been particularly interested in soccer. Though it's definitely better than homework :D

Anyway, good luck with your exams!

I'm the worst soccer fan ever, really. I only get interested during the world cup, and I love to criticize the French team whenever they're in trouble (and I cheer for them when they've scored).

I am in the same boat I should be doing dissertation research and studying but I am currently watching Italy vs Paraguay on the tivo because I was running errands while it was on live. Watched England-USA on Saturday, was angst ridden because I feel I should cheer for the USA as an American, but the MLS is terrible so I watch Premier League and Serie A during the regular season and am therefore more invested in the players from the England team. Fortunately they shouldn't have to play each other again and I could be happy with a 1-1 draw.

Good luck with exams.

Wow, I'm impressed with your dedication. I don't think I've ever watched a Premier League match. I only (and very sporadically) watch the international competitions.

Good luck too with your dissertation!

My roommate is a huge Liverpool FC fan and even bigger fan of Michael Owen who is now at Man United, got into it while she was doing a study abroad year in York, so we watch. Manchester United is playing an exhibition match against the Kansas City team here in the states the end of July and I think we are going, not that I really have time to be giving up an entire weekend like that, but likely will.
