So I'm delurking myself briefly to pimp vid_commentaryI'm having trouble posting about anything these days, so I'll just say briefly that I think it's the best idea for a community I've seen for ages. I love reading people's in-depth ideas about vids, and I look forward to reading the commentaries there in July ( Read more... )

You should do a vidding chat about commenting on vids. *whistles innocently* :)
Ooh, yes! Can we haz one? I feel non-vidders are so intimidated about commenting. I know I was. They don't know that their comments are so helpful and informative. :-)

But then that leads to your point above, do you comment if you haven't watched the show and don't know it at a meta level?

Will do.

I'd comment, yes, but I wouldn't sign up to do a commentary--I think I'd only feel comfortable doing commentaries for vids of shows I knew well.

Oh, yeah. I just meant regular comments.

But a vid commentary, yeah, I'm sure people would only do that if they knew the show well.

I've signed up, and I think the idea of watching a vid that closely, and being 'allowed' to do so visibly, is fantastic.

My first thought upon reading this entry was But... isn't this what feedback posts are for? I guess I've never had much restraint against babbling incoherently at length in other people's journals. (Oddly, I feel guilty whenever I do it in mine.)
