I've been sick this week and when I first watched Terminator this week my thoughts were pushed aside by speechless spine-tingly feelings and so this post is a late response to 'Today is the day' (how great is that episode name?!).

I finally caught up with this show just the other night, and the last handful of episodes in particular have completely ensnared me. I love how these characters all revolve around John, each with his or her own expectations of who he should be now, and who he should become. And there isn't a single human or machine who doesn't have a BIG secret from someone.

What's happening between Sarah and John is so beautifully done, her love for him at war with her responsibility to the future, his love for her at war with his struggle against a predetermined destiny. It just killed me in the episode with the sleep clinic when we had all those scenes of John being so concerned for his mom, and then it turned out those were the dream. As was the scene of John checking out Cameron in her underwear. Sarah's hopes, Sarah's fears ( ... )

You caught up! YAY! I think the show's really got better as its gone along.

And there isn't a single human or machine who doesn't have a BIG secret from someone.
True, and we also really understand how they came about and why each character is keeping that secret.

It just killed me in the episode with the sleep clinic when we had all those scenes of John being so concerned for his mom, and then it turned out those were the dream. As was the scene of John checking out Cameron in her underwear. Sarah's hopes, Sarah's fears.
I know! That was an incredible episode. I know dream eps are a hard sell but I found the exploration of Sarah's subconscious fascinating and heartbreaking and the crafting of a mother's fears was so well done.

I'm so glad you like it! And yes, every time John and Cameron interact it is riveting. I don't really ship them but I am mesmerised by the chemistry between them. And I think the show's worth watching for Summer's performance alone--she's amazing!

YAY a new fan! *high fives*

I dooooo loooove Derek now! I had that epiphany some time ago, as anticipated, on rewatch of Season 1. It held up SO well to rewatch and I found that now that my anxieties about Derek taking over the show from Sarah have been assuaged, I love both him and the role his character plays on the show in terms of character dynamics.

And I'm totally riveted by Jesse! I neeed to see the end of this story, badly!

My heart is going to break for Derek, I know, and yet I'm kind of looking forward to that? I love how solid their relationship has been shown to be--that's going to make the fallout awful but it kind of needs to be given that the destiny of mankind hinges on who is right!

I sincerely commiserate with your week of weakness woes (sorry, been ill long enough I couldn't resist making little corny alliteration about it to cope). *hugs* And best wishes too on the renewal of T:SCC! I haven't watched the show, but I've heard lots of good things about it, it would be sad to see a kickass show with a good female-protagonist to end so soon.

Hee! Whatever it takes! And yes, this show kicks ass and it seems so natural that the women are amazing!
