Thank you to everyone who responded to my bsg woes post: while I wish no-one else felt like I did, it was amazingly comforting to hear that I was not alone. And I feel a lot calmer approaching 4.5 now ( Read more... )

I love this season so much - the last two episodes had me bawling my eyes out. From Tyra's essay (which I found so moving I'm weeping a little as I type this) to Coach's losing speech to Matty and Julie and Tim and Lyla. Ack!

The JD story worked for me - I thought they showed both sides of it fairly: Coach and Tami were right to call child services because what JD's father did was unacceptable, but it's also true that the family would feel like they were under attack. And presumably we will see some of that resolved in the finale?

If FNL gets cancelled after this season I'm going to be inconsolable. It's back to being the best thing on television and I want MORE. :(

Yeah, I think they did show both sides of JD's story well--i was just a little surprised at how aggressive the child services were. I thought they could have shown the family feeling attacked without it being that dramatic. But maybe they really would approach like that, I don't know.

I will always want more FNL, I think! But I'm trying to comfort myself about a possible end by thinking that they've written some beautiful farewells for Smash and Jason so far. If it ends, it will be going out on a high.

There is no official word on whether there will be a forth season, but I suspect this season may be the last and I'm OK with that. Not only would it be going out on a high note, most of the cast I love has or will be moving on. And while Tami and Eric remain two of my favorite characters, they haven't introduced a new crop of players to focus on next season accept for J.D. who I don't find all that interesting.

I've suspected for awhile that J.D. would choke under the pressure of a big game, but I kind of wish we saw that his youth and inexperience were causes for it rather than the family drama. Still, I'll take any reason for Matt to have his moment to shine. :)

I suspect it may be the last too. You're right that they haven't introduced new characters this season.

I was expecting that, actually. And yeah, I think it's a bit deceptive that he snapped because of family drama. But yay for Matt getting his position back! ;) Like you, I'll accept that on any terms!

I think the reason there is no official word is that they will still air it on cbs and we will have to wait for those reating more than the the ones on direct TV.

Omg...this seasons been so good!

Hee! I'm all squee about FNL. Tyra always makes me cry... it's only sheepishly that I admit that it probably was, technically, cheesy, but it was also done so well that i don't care!

somehow in the moment while watching this show it just doesn't matter. I can never watch it that objectively. :D
Me neither! It's because the execution is always soooo beautiful. Complete with that gorgeous natural light and handheld=camera feel they have and the overwhelming humanity of the characters.

I think I could be okay with it ending on the note its playing now. As long as next week is awesome!
I think I could be too. Though I would have to rewatch and wallow! But I do like the idea of them ending on a high and I feel like they have in many ways reached a natural end with the characters moving on to college.
