After they rescued Jason from the beach they drove back to the hotel but stopped at a bar for a drink first. Lyla danced with Jason and sat on his lap and kissed him, then danced with Tim and kissed him slightly too. She immediately said 'I have to go pray' and left--J smiled gently and Tim looked more cut up.
The cantina dance/kiss scene worked for me and that really surprised me since I never thought they'd pull that off. But then I was full of glowy love for all three of them at that point in time.
I do think the Landry/Tyra relationship was unhealthy but it was still really painful to see the break-up, especially since Tyra, for lack of anything else to say, fell back on painful personal insult. Poor Landry. Though I still think he's better off without her.
What?? I must've accidentally ff'wded through this on my TIVO. I missed it entirely and I've already deleted the episode. What did she say to Landry? How did he react?
I did love seeing Smash and Matt sidelined though, especially Matt's 'well I guess we could start cheering louder'. *giggle* He's just such a sullen teenager it cracks me up.
Hee! I loved Matty's new bad attitude. So awesome.
And I'm so happy to see someone else squeeing over this. I need to find some FNL fans for my FList. I felt all alone posting about it last night. Not that my post was anything like coherent, but you know... :)
I think you missed the end bit? At the after party where everyone was cheering Landry she called him outside and said they shouldn't be together. When he wanted to talk about it she said 'take a look in the mirror: we would never have got together if it wasn't for that, I don't know what I was thinking' and walked off. It was painful. He just stared and looked pained--I could barely watch.
I loved Matty's new bad attitude. So awesome. Same! He makes a fun brat.
I'm very glad to see someone else squeeing about it too! I think there are secret fans out there, they just don't all post... I'm slowly finding more! :)
Tim is wonderful to me because just when I most want to slap him around and tell him to get his life together, he disarms me with an act so heartfelt that I'm rendered speechless. His friendship with Jason is one of the most well-sketched male friendships on television, I think, complete with stupidity, rivalry, guilt and stubbornness on both parts.

I agree in the part where "covering up a murder" must get out on the open somehow. It is terrible to live with this type of thing even though what happened was in a big part an accident. But I think Landy and Tyra are actually very good for each other and it seems (very surprisingly) that she has real feelings for him. But may be not surprisingly - Landy is really an only chance for Tyra to do something in her life..
I loved Lyla in the last two episodes but the scene of kissing two boys simultaneously - I didn't get it.
even though what happened was in a big part an accident Oh definitely! But it ceased to be an accident for me when she threw the body off the bridge--that was always the point that pushed it too far for me and I'm still not convinced that she'd do that. I've run with it though...
But may be not surprisingly - Landy is really an only chance for Tyra to do something in her life.. Not surprisingly to me--I think Landry is exactly what Tyra needed but she didn't know it. I think he means the world to her because he's truly the only person who's treated her as an equal and who has also provided her with opportunity to grow as a person. I wish they'd got together under different circumstances. I don't think her speech to him was genuine at this point in time--I think she was saying all the cliched stuff she WOULD have said as the person she was a year ago. As Tyra today she didn't mean it, if that makes sense? She was just using it as a fallback way of ending things

I agree - and even more, I think her speech was meant to be something that would hurt Landry the most. And as sad as it is - people can hurt people they love much more it seems because they know their weak spots. Tyra tried to break up nicely at first but after she realized that Landry won't have any of it and is ready to figure put what is really going on Tyra just said the cruelest thing she could think of.
*nods* I agree--and it's sad because I think it shows she really agreed with his father that the relationship was bad for Landry and that she was embroiling his son in something dangerous. She pushes L away because she wants to protect him.
The Tim, Jason and Lyla plot made my heart explode in love. They're my OT3 on the show since the first episode so this storyline was heaven for me. So canon! Tim telling Jason "I love you" totally blew me away. I mean, it's TIM so that was a huge character moment not to mention being very slashy :) I totally gasped at the throwing himself overboard too (rather Forrest Gump) but I'm really glad they handled it so nicely. The beach shot was perfect. Not to mention the dancing/kissing scene which I just stared at in complete disbelief (the good kind). So amazing and their reactions were perfect. I love how all their relationships are tangled up inside each other

I love how all their relationships are tangled up inside each other. Yeah, I think that what I really liked about that moment is that they didn't try to pretend it was otherwise or try and fix it. It was just pure and yet complicated.
I did love all the Matt stuff both him squaring off with Smash/Coach and trying to get advice from Tami at the same time. Oh, Matt. *nods* He's hopeless but in a loveable way.

Ah, man, I think I may have ff'wded through an entire segment of the show on my TIVO or something. I don't remember this scene either.
