Man, I love that shot of her running off with Clark. It says so much about her and her personality. She takes the lead, but she grabs his hand.

Yeah, it's seriously one of my favourites. Gorgeous stuff!

I could go meta-y on the symbolic significance of the telescope, but suffice to say that this shot is definitely a sign of Lois's significance in Clark's universe.
Oh, could you please? lol. I really liked the telescope one.

That and the way she can may Clark go from :) to :( in no time at all.

I'm waiting for the General to come back so he and Clark can have some more awkward moments. Clark's an alien with superpowers and he's scared of him! I love it.

Oh, could you please?Sure! Any excuse to geek. ;-) *adjusts meta glasses* Well, early on there was a lot of exploration of Clark-as-voyeur. While you would assume that the telescope was meant to signal his interest in the stars, his heritage, etc, he actually had it trained on the house next door to watch Lana. Which works as commentary on the fact that he was both romantically obsessed with her, and also that he was more focussed on the humans around him and on gaining acceptance with them than on exploring his origins. Then it was also significant in the famous 'Friendship of Legend' scene between him and Lex. There, Clark was still focussed on fitting in on Earth. If anything it was Lex who was already looking to the stars. So the telescope is both a sign of interest/intimacy between them, but also distance--they actually come from different worlds and look at each other through the emotional equivalent of telescopes ( ... )

I always found it very creepy and stalkerish of Clark to be using his telescope to spy on Lana.

I think if the General came back Clark would be all assertive and I'm not scared of you but the General would just stare him down and Clark would be all meek. I've wanted the General to come since season 4.

3. She brings out Clark's sense of humour.
One of my favourite things on the show. I just love how snarky and relaxed he can be around her. And he's not afraid to talk back, he treats her as an equal, and doesn't put her on a pedestal. I freakin' love that!!

#4 FTW! Agreed.
Plus she reminded me of Marion (?) from Indiana Jones movie, that was cool. :)

*evil chuckle at #9*

Yeah, that actually makes her very special. Even with Chloe, Clark is very careful (when he's not redK!). She's got that protective bubble of best-friendship around her--their banter is gentle and affectionate. But with Lois, the gloves come off and he gets to use that snark. It reminds me of the couple of times he shyly made jokes with Lex. He doesn't really have anyone else who's 'safe' enough to joke with.

Oh, yeah! *G*

I absolutely adore what Lois does to Clark. She infuriates him so much and it's so SEXY seeing him react to her in a way that's not all moon eyes and angst (Lana) or glassy eyed friendship (Chloe). They SPARK off each other and the best thing is that she doesn't worship him like the other girls, so they're on more of an even keel. Their chemistry is utterly wonderful. I am so in love with Clois it's insane!

And now I get to use this awesome icon in celebration. (I very rarely get a chance to.)

Wheee! That icon is perfect! :D

Right! And as Cris points out above, he also doesn't worship her--at least not at first. Now that he's starting to crush a little he's a little more nervous around her. Teeheeheee!

Right! Not exactly unique at all--and on another show, no big deal. What is unusual is how firmly Lois changed her ways in response--which should be viewed as a strength!
