Well, I did it. I have successfully finished my lift truck training. It was supposed to be over two days, but my instructor decided that he would be willing to stay late and let me do my "road test" today. That saves me a trip back in to Brantford tomorrow. Fine by me. It was still close to an 11 hour day

i've made a point of trying out all sorts of vehicles, from tractor-trailer rigs to motorcycles to small aircraft and even a boat or two - there was one time, in college, when my friends had to almost physically restrain me to keep me from hot-wiring a giant road grader (hey, it was just sitting there!). but i haven't yet had the opportunity to try a forklift. so i envy you, in the nicest way possible ;-)

The only problem with driving a lift truck is having to deal with those annoying pedestrians. It would be the most stressful part of the day, and would stretch across the entire shift. With power comes responsibility.

if your forklift has a horn or warning bell, just sound off a lot, to warn away pedestrians...
