in the words of Irving Berlin (as sung by Lieutenant Commander Data, and by the earlier-model android "the B-4"):
Blue skies,

Smilin' at me,

Nothin' but blue skies

Do I see;

Bluebirds

Singin' a song,

Nothing but bluebirds

All day long.

Never saw the sun shinin' so bright,

Never saw things goin' so right,

Noticin' the days hurryin' by -

When you're in love, my, how they fly!

Blue days,

All of them gone;

Nothin' but blue skies

From now on.

The stereo at the beginning of this song always makes me catch my breath. Best heard through headphones, where the sound is in the middle of your brain...

Click, click, click ... listen. A song I hadn't heard before. Wednesday it wouldn't have reached me, it's too calm, and I had to be the storm running its course just then.

You're right about the stereo ... I've heard stereo effects so horribly misused so many times -- I think those who might use them well must shy away more often than not -- and used fittingly not often enough, it's always good to hear another great example.

Good choice. An old favourite of mine. I should play it again soon, and take it to heart myself.

*hugs*
