A great comedian, gone

So. Robin Williams is dead. A great comedian and actor, who apparently took his own life at age 63. I'm in tears now, for the loss of such a rare talent, and because I know that despair first-hand. I wish he felt he had a choice. I fear reaching that point myself. I hope he has found the peace he so desperately sought.

I just found out a little while ago and I'm too stunned to cry. I'm pretty bummed about it, too.

I found out when I logged into work, one of my co-workers posted about it. I was completely dumbfounded. Couldn't believe it. Then I read more and more confirmations.

To be completely honest, I've been expecting something like this from him ever since Jonathan Winters died...

The only other celebrity death to hit me this hard was Jim Henson's.

I plan to make a short list of the current living celebrities that mean a lot to me and I'm actually going to sit down and write them letters telling them so.

I regret that I never did that for the celebrities that are now lost to us.
