When I was little, I played with toy cars and trucks and ripped the legs off of daddy long legs'. Look at me now, I'm well adjusted! ;P

There's been a shift in recent decades about which traits are considered masculine and feminine, in particular as the traits relate to school performance. It wasn't all that long ago that boys heavily outnumbered girls at institutions of higher learning. Now, that's been reversed. The stereotype now is that you have girls who are smart and good in school, alongside boys who are smart but don't work. Case in point: in the highest literacy group in my school this past year, there were 22 students, of whom 16 were female
