Sad News

So if you've been on Twitter anytime in the last two weeks or so (and you follow me), you may have seen some of my tweets about something not so fun going on in my life. How is your health now? Where are you getting treated? My dad works in cancer research (radiation therapy though, not chemotherapy) but if you want to check on anything the doctors tell you, I can relay your question and see if my dad knows.

It sounds like you're in good hands though. ::hug::

I finished chemo two weeks ago and am being treated at the Cancer Center here in Lynchburg, VA. My oncologist had just started there when I was diagnosed but she is wonderful and very knowledgeable. They still never really figured out what I have as what's in my body is straddling the line between Hodgkin's and non-Hodgkin's, and there was something else going on with my T cells. So she, and now the radiation oncologist, have been getting lots of outside opinions to decide on the best course of action for me with the least amount of side effects since otherwise I am healthy (and also young, almost 28). I had a CT scan this past Monday and am waiting to hear back on if I'll need radiation or not. Luckily, my chemo wasn't too bad- it was aggressive but my main side effect was just fatigue. I didn't really have any nausea or any other normal chemo side effects. I was able to drive myself places, do errands, read, work on blogging, write (not very often but I did do some!), and generally still have a life. It was very good and I feel so ( ... )
