At times I'm surprised it's ended up as coherent as it has, but I chalk that up to both of us knowing when to back off and let the story flow properly. It really is a case of the characters taking over at points.

I've certainly sat down with no idea how to get out of the cliffhanger, just written what seems natural for the characters and found myself an hour later happily plunging them into an all new problem. It's fun!
