I joined torchwoodfive last night.

It's a brand new community, set after Children of Earth, and wondering where they could go after those events. Doubtless, spoilers will be found in abundance, so I wouldn't even recommend the User Info until you've seen it

I've been meaning to ask... Can someone who hasn't seen more than a few episodes of Torchwood watch Children of Earth and still understand what's going on? (It was on UK TV and we decided to tape it).

I think you'll be okay - most of the info you might need will be given to you in part one. The actual Children of Earth mini-series has nothing to do with previous seasons, so the only things that carry over are the basic series building blocks and just who's actually left in the show. They did lose two people at the end of season two but they're hardly refered to.

I think you'll be fine - just make sure you have someone to cuddle up to. It's very dark and only gets darker as it goes through. Damn great television though.
