It was a dark and stormy forest, filled with intent. At least that was what Howard thought was setting up the hairs on the back of his neck. Even his very damp moustache felt oddly twitchy.

He didn't like it at all. It felt wrong.

Oh. My. Gosh. You did it. You made Vince believe that Howard is dead. This is devastating, and amazing, and perfect! And so many details to love: Howard warming when at the sense of camaraderie of him and Vince sharing a virus. Vince being so certain that "sacrifice" is meant euphemistically. The careful way Naboo makes it sound like he killed Howard without actually lying. The idea that Naboo might have magically depilated Howard out of spite. Howard thinking "right as rain" and then shivering. Howard's fantasies of future jokes he could share with Vince.

And I think you might have pulled that creepy doll straight from my nightmares. I once housesat at a house that had a large porcelain doll like the one you described, and I 100% kept it shut in a room and went out of my way to avoid it.
