Gorgeous! I live in Toronto and I'm so jealous of the weather in Vancouver.

Hee! Fantastic! I love this city a lot, and those are some mighty fine pictures of some particularly awesome parts of town. :D

Me, I love the view at UBC standing at the very end of Main Mall, looking out north across the mountains (especially if you stand by Koerner, because then the flag pole is there, and it's just, like, yes). Then again, I'm also quite possibly the only person in the GVRD absolutely stoked that the forecast is calling for rain and clouds all week. So.

Do you go to UBC, then? My orientation is on Tuesday, and I'm a little terrified nervous. :D And I'm pretty happy about the weather, too, being a generally devoted sun-hater. Someone else commented that it's been thundering, and I'm bummed I haven't heard it yet. Also, the idea that the rain here is worse than in the UK (where I'm from) is pretty epic.

I do go to UBC, yeah, but I'm more or less taking this year off. I've lived in Vancouver my whole life, though, too.

Oooooh! Orientation! I think the most important piece of information I took away from mine was never leave anything unattended in the library or it will be stolen. Presumably they all went over the Key Food and Coffee Locations and explained the Epicness of Clubs Days, and how they are Epic (*cough*Film Soc*cough*).

I haven't heard any thunder, but high-five for hating the sun.

Were you in town during the fireworks? Specifically the brilliant electrical storm before the South African's set theirs off? It was absolutely stunning. Fork lightning all across the sky which, at sunset, turned the most magnificent, vibrant orange.

They went over most of that stuff when they showed us around last year: cafes and clubs and not leaving your crap lying around (I'm super paranoid about things getting stolen, so it's not a problem for me). This orientation seems much more... socially-intensive; I have to bring walking shoes!

I don't think I was here for the fireworks, when was that?
