This season might be turning me into a wee bit of an Eric fangirl. I like him so much more now! And I think he has way better chemistry with Sookie than Bill/S. Moyer. Which is ironic...
Hoyt is the best. And yes, nice arms!
Jesica is suddenly also incredibly adorable to me.
This show, man, it takes its time but mid-to-late season it just hooks its claws right in. Same thing with s1.
I am really enjoying his chemistry with Sookie (haha, YES for the irony of Paquin/Moyer's off screen romance not selling Bill/Sookie). He is so highly pleasing to look at, but it wouldn't be nearly as fun if the chemistry wasn't there too :)
Jessica is one of my favorite things in the show. I love her emotion and her humor and her vulnerability. She is by far one of the most sympathetic characters.
I am so in love with this show. That dream sequence was... I mean Eric was... I mean Askars was... Whoa. And personally, I think Lafayette is just that much of a BAMF.
I didn't even know until I started reading the books this weekend that Jessica is a show creation. I love her so. And Hoyt standing up to his piece-of-work mama was AWESOME. :D
Yay!!!!!! *beams* I love hearing others squee for the show :)
Jessica is definitely one of my favorite things unique to the show too. I adore her. Such a great thing to do with a new character: introduce them as supernatural/potentially-scary and then show how relatable and human she still is. Yep, love her!
I hadn't thought of the Eric-juice and Lafayette. Hmmm. And yeah, totally agree about the bawling over Godric and the dream progressing too quickly. It gave me characterization whiplash. And Lorena's presence there squicked me out. Few characters have made me hate them on-sight like she does. I love Jessica/Hoyt, but the show has been so nice to them (compared to other characters) that I fear for them.
I've been worried about Jessica/Hoyt too! I really hope something awful doesn't happen to them, or they don't get killed off or anything. They're too adorable for words and the only truly sweet romance on the show.
I can understand why they're making those choices with Eric in the show because so much of Eric's characterization in the book is understated and told/interpreted by Sookie--which you can't do in TV, you have to SHOW not tell, so they are making his emotions/motivations more transparent. And I'm not about to complain about the gorgeousness or snarkiness of the dream. But I still want them to slow down a little!
Also, boo for Lorena. I haven't enjoyed any of her scenes, and neither her cat-fight with Sookie nor her role in the dream are helping.
Just... yes, please. I love Sookie, Eric, Lafayette, Jessica and Hoyt so much. They even made me love Jason, who annoyed me so much last season. I didn't have a problem with the development of the Eric/Sookie thing (I haven't read the books) mainly because I saw it as Sookie actually realizing that a) he's not always stoic and b) there's the potential for something there. I didn't think it was her finding him attractive necessarily, but her taking him out of the repugnant category.
And I love how he tricked her.
That said, the whole Tara and Maryanne thing... frustrating and boring. Until next week! I'm so excited.
I enjoyed Jason in the last couple ones too! I was getting sooooo tired of him at the Fellowship, and last season too for that matter, so it was nice to have him redeem himself a little.
I'm easing up on my reaction to the development of Eric/Sookie, the more distance I get. It makes sense to change some parts of his behavior for a more visual medium. Working on my book-vs-tv zen ;)
Also, boo for Maryann. She wasn't nearly such a huge plot point in the book and I am DONE with her chaos and orgies and black eyes.
But yay for next week! The promo looked awesome :)

Sam also gets on my nerves. Sigh. But generally, the show moves at a good pace, so I'm excited to see what happens.
Are the books worth reading?
