Doctor Who: all the female companions do badass stuff. Rose, Martha, Donna, Amy. I'd also add Sarah Jane Smith who was a companion in classic Who and was in a few New Who episodes and has her own show now. And River Song who's not exacly a companion but is badass.
In Torchwood they don't really travel in space/time, they deal with aliens here and now but if it's still relevant I'd suggest Gwen Cooper, especially in the Children of Earth episodes.
ETA: I realize now you need specific episodes/moments, right?
- Rose = The Parting of the Ways when she basically disintegrates the whole Dalek fleet and saved everyone - Martha = The Last of the Time Lords when she spends a year traveling the world on her own to defeat the Master - Donna = Turn Left in which she steps in front of a haulage truck to restore the time line - Amy = The Big Bang in which her memories alone allowed the Doctor and the TARDIS to be restored - River = basically any episode she's in! "Silence in the Library"/"Forest of the Dead, "The Time of Angels"/"Flesh and Stone", "The Pandorica Opens"/"The Big Bang"
The Stolen Earth/Journey's End have basically ALL of them (except Amy&River) uniting to save the universe
Yes, Farscape has many women doing awesome things related to space and time travel (the ship, Moya, is even female). For Aeryn flying the prowler, definitely try 1-22 and 2-22.
Sigourney Weaver in Galaxy Quest and the Alien movies.
Inara flies in the first episode, Zoe driving the mule is in Serenity. River wears a space suit in Objects in Space and in War Stories, I think, and she flies Serenity in the movie.
Denise Richards flies a ship in Starship Troopers.
I haven't seen Avatar, but Michelle Rodriquez does stuff, I hear? I think maybe there's space travel?
Farscape! Aeryn Sun! Some of my favorite badassery from Aeryn are in late season two: Liars, Guns, and Money. Of course, she's just plain badass whenever she's on screen, so you really can't go wrong.
Also Farscape, Zhaan is scary badass in season one's That Old Black Magic.
And then there's Terminator: the Sarah Connor Chronicles. Sarah Connor could give Aeryn Sun a run for her money.
