Festivids Recs, Part One
OMG you guys: dozens and dozens of gorgeous vids for me to watch! It is better than birthdays+Christmas combined! I've only made it through about a fraction of the vids, but here are my recs so far:
For funs:
Jumpin Jester (Court Jester) by VesperRegina - Oh what a blast--it's delightful. I love the horn solo for Griselda's hypnotism and the scatting/doowa's for the poison exposition! And the snapping--that's one of my favorite gags of the movie <3 I'm so happy that someone made me a Court Jester vid!!!
Tik Tok (Back to the Future trilogy) by Jackiekjono - Totally fun and fast-paced, with hilarious lyrical matches + physical humor. Definitely a party vid.
But Here's What Really Happened (Clue) by cee_m - SO DELIGHTFUL. It is perfectly timed, wacky glee at it's finest. Slapstick and synchronized deaths all around!
tv taught me how to feel by gaby0189 and Space Oddity (Community) by cappy - I know half of my flist loves this show but I haven't seen it yet. Don't need to see it to love these vids: the first is quick and witty and a total blast to watch, the second is a brilliantly edited and hilarious space opera bromance. Win!
For the "Woah, that was cool" factor:
Serpent Charmer (The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford) by sol_se - a gorgeous vid in fandom/movie I've never seen but the vidder does a marvelous job of establishing and building the UST.
November Rain (Blade Runner) by fan_eunice - Totally stunning and totally fucked up. Gorgeous editing like whoa.
For intensity and emotional impact:
The Only Exception (Big Eden) by dkwilliams - omg I love this movie so much and this vid is great. It really captures the isolation Pike feels and how much his connection to Henry means to him--it will make your heart swell! One of my all time favorite romances <3
Hurt (Return of the Joker) by thatfangirl - WOW. So sad and poignant; so much loss and regret. Gorgeous and heartbreaking.
On a purely selfish note, I'm really happy with the response to my vid (not telling!). There's something so freeing about posting anonymously and just enjoying everyone's feedback without the self-consciousness. Yay for festivids <3
