So, I decided that I had been stuck on Kor'a for far too long. After all, I did plan for Pleasantview Corners to be more than just a one-sim settlement. (: I moved another family in yesterday, and I couldn't resist giving you a small peek as a prologue. The real story begins a little later. I hope you enjoy it!
Background on the Gerald's
Lucy and Jack Gerald have just bought their first home, after getting married. It's a nice change after living with their parents for so long. Jack has so many aspirations, business wise, and all Lucy really wants to be is the perfect housewife. While they've talked about kids, they were planning to wait a few years and get adjusted to their new home. After all, there would be plenty of time for all that, yes? It seems, however, Fate had something else in store for them.
Lucy and Jack are the same age, twenty-six, but they couldn't be more different. Lucy is more laid back and quiet.
While Jack is very quick to let people know when he's displeased about something. However, they are in love, and that does count for everything.
They have just purchased this lovely two-story home, right next to the Lys family. (:
(Thank you, MTS2!)
And the first few days settling in are simple. Jack goes to work and Lucy spends her time studying and reading up on what it's like to be a wife.
Oh, and crosswords. Her favorite activity.
Hi, Isis Vaughn! (:
They're really affectionate with each other. (:
However, Lucy couldn't help but notice that she'd been sick lately. Luckily Jack had been too busy with work to notice, because she couldn't image how he would react to this.
Hello, townie with pink eyes. (:
Discretion isn't the big theme of this house.
Over the next few weeks, Lucy began consuming everything in sight.
(xD I love the sloppy sim interactions!)
They make a nice little family.
Still, she was nervous to tell Jack. What would he say?
He was already stressed out enough by taking care of the bills and working for the both of them. Did they really need a child right now?
Luckily he hadn't seemed to care that she was eating them out of house and home.
In the end it took a disaster. Jack hadn't really been paying attention while cooking breakfast one morning.
And she could no longer hide her condition.
So when he scavenged their breakfast...
The condition of the food convinced her that something needed to change.
Not even his promotion took her mind off what she needed to tell him.
Too bad he'd already figured it out. ;)
And naturally as every proud father must be, he was excited. It would remain to be seen, however, if they remained excited once the child arrived.
I tried a little bit of something different, but the story-telling seemed awkward this first go around, so I'll probably head back to legacy style narration with some elements of a story. (:
