Having a crush on Alan Alda is perfectly understandable :-) (from a girls's perspective I hasten to add, I don't have a crush on him!)
I don't think 'being in a denomination is terribly important', but God does love you and want you to spend time with him and his people. Maybe you'd enjoy coming along to church once or twice? You'd be very welcome to come with me to visit my friendly centre of town CofE church (Holy Trinity - you just missed Nicky Gumble speaking there, who was fantastic), or my girlfriend's1 young people / couples / people wearing bright clothes / waving flags church :-)
1 ssh - this is top secret - you are ahead of all the other LJers on my flist in knowing this (but before you ask for more info, this is her blog)
I will definitely join you at Holy Trinity at some point, I used to go there occasionally as a teenager. I wonder whether my friend's parents still worship there... I am trying to remember whether I am doing anything this Sunday. If I'm not, what time are the services?
Woot on the girlfriend front! She sounds lovely from her blog.
I am now going to be going to City church (Bekki's church) in the mornings, so if you want to come to HT with me it'll need to be an evening service (which is less family oriented, and a bit more clappy).
Evening services are at 6:30. It'd be lovely to meet you there if you're so free this Sunday or a subsequent Sunday. We (the 20s-30s) also usually go to B Bar afterwards (which you'd be welcome to come to if you wanted to).
Evening sounds better than the morning to me...I shall try to make this Sunday, but cannot for the life of me remember if I'm supposed to be doing something or not.
I eat cloves whole, and have been known to eat a red pepper like an apple. I love crystalised ginger, but even better is preserved ginger of the non-crystal variety. Almost impossible to find though. Fentiman's Ginger Beer is the nectar of the Gods, and tastes exactly as I remember my first taste of ginger beer when I was about seven. I ate a slice of dry bread with two biscuits for breakfast every day for years, and saw nothing wrong/strange about this.
There are probably many, many more oddities...how about you?
It is a remarkably well developed theory based on the idea that they are both redheads, both limp, Kerry was adopted, and her favourite colour is lime green...

I used to crunch sugar cubes, eg if there was a bowl of them on a table in a cafe.
