I really feel that Nobuta slash is gratuitous. Not only is it gratuitous as a commentary on Nobuta canon, but (as [info]soundczech and I were debating the other day) it might even arguably undermine the point of canon.

ITA re: Hikago, OF COURSE. And yeah, got nothin' to add for TezuRyo or House/Wilson, either. I had no idea you were ever in House fandom, also. I fail.

Also I think you're dead-on with Nobuta. Which could explain a lot of how I got like, two paragraphs into my Nobuta WIP before I realized it was actually *resisting* slashification and wow, that's...okay, isn't it? yay.

HBP was kind of my last stand as an HP fan, precisely because as you said, it felt like reading fic. And y'know, I really really doubt that HP7 is going to even come close to satisfying and tying up all the raw feelings and relationships of its characters -- EXCEPT MAYBE THE SUDDENLY EPIC LOVE THAT IS HARRY/GINNY WTF D: -- and I've gotten to the point where I trust my favourite fanfic authors more than I trust JKR, in terms of delivering a satisfying closure. We'll see what happens with HP7, though, who knows.

I kind of want to mem this post and just shove it at people whenever they ask about my feelings towards Hikaru/Akira et al. *___* *thumbs up*

I don't think you knew me when i was in house fandom, it was basically for about two months in early 2005 right before I discovered Tenipuri. It was House fandom that really sort of dragged me out of Harry Potter towards something different. And House totally dragged me into media fandoms and got me to really watch tv shows for the first time ever ever ever.

I did the same with basically all the Nobuta requests I got on my question meme. i just couldn't do it even when I had a plot idea, it just didn't feel right. :|
