  • I read a (gasp!) My Chemical Romance fic tonight, despite the fact that I, um, kind of don't like the band at all *runs*. trolleys recced this fic called The Scene is Dead, and IT HAS VAMPIRES! It was totally, like, 28 Days Later goes punk. Well, punker. And you don't really need to know anything about the band, I googled a picture and then I was ( Read more... )

Oh, and... I dl'd Petshop once. I didn't make it through all the OVAs, but mostly I thought D had a really hot voice. The manga was pretty cute, in the same absurd and over-the-top way that the OVAs were. D is the definition of ^___^.

EDDIE I THINK I REMEMBER READING AN AMNESIA FIC.

... Only. It was when I just got into the fandom and it was on FF.Net. Er, not sure if you want to go look for it. :/

Oh, gosh, I've been trying to dig up the OVA for a while now (and, you know, I guess I could've gone the legal route, but wtfever). Unfortunately, Tokyopop's translation of the manga wasn't the best, but it's definitely worth checking out. (Also! The sequel series is already in publication, but with the exception of a cameo (possibly more? I'm behind on it), Leon hasn't shown up in it. ALSO: apparently an American film adaptation of the original manga is in the works?)

As for fic recs! There're a number of excellent fics at Yuletide Treasure and I'll always have a secret soft spot for Telanu's fic (which can be found here).

Yuletide! Of course, what a perfect source and I should have thought of it first. :D

I had no idea Telanu even still had an lj, much less that she was writing anime now. When I saw her linked on A's post I just stared in surprise.

I can't imagine (and not sure I want to) an Americanized version of what I saw on the OVA's. It would be .........very dark, I would think.

"Distant" is very much my favorite PSoH fic ever, and not only because the Leon voice is fabulous! (LEON, ILU, YOU DELIGHTFUL AMERICAN STEREOTYPE.)

I don't think she's done anything in PSoH for a while now, but what she does have up is almost unbearably fabulous. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, but you probably already know that, yeah. Er.

AND GAY, one hopes. Half the fun of the manga is Leon and Count D acting like immature schoolgirls around each other.

I like the PSoH manga a lot. :D I wrote a Hikago/PSoH fic last year right after marathoning the entire series.

Pet Shop of Horrors is awesome, Shin Pet Shop of Horrors...not so much. Personally I wouldn't recommend it.

Ahaha, now I want Touya/Shindou camping fic too. Akira would be all persnickety and "Ew, bugs," and Hikaru would be trying so hard to be all manly and bear-killing and impressive while really being completely and utterly out of his depth because he's an urban Tokyo kid who can navigate the train system with the fearsome competence of Theseus in the labyrinth but would get hopelessly lost thirty feet from his tent.
