My real life relationships, all of them, romantic or semi-platonic or the fuzzy area in between, have ended in unequivocal, unmitigated disaster of one kind of another. They don't just end, they end, more or less, in ruin. As a result, rather than subject myself to yet another instance of failing to love another human being half as well as I ( Read more... )

I'm sorry, I feel really weird commenting on this post because you don't even know me and I don't even have you friended, but I wanted to say that your description of Eames and Arthur broke my heart a little, but in a wonderful way. Thank you.

don't apologize at all! thank you for indulging my neurotic rambling, haha!

they kind of *do* break my heart, at least the way i see them in canon. i think this is mainly because i just can't seem to get a handle on arthur at all. :)

SOMEHOW I BEGIN TO THINK YOU TAKE "BE NICE TO HIM" TO MEAN "JUST GO AWAY AND LEAVE HIM ALONE" :|

MAYBE THAT'S WHAT HE WANTS

HAVE YOU THOUGHT ABOUT THAT

MAYBE IF YOU REALLY WANTED WHAT WAS GOOD FOR HIM, IT WOULD BE TO GIVE HIM SOME TIME TO THINK ABOUT IT AND COME TO TERMS WITH IT

MAYBE YOU ARE SMOTHERING HIM :|

But isn't part of H/D the fandom experience too? I mean that was such a shared ship in many ways. Amrchair! ♥

I really love this post. In the past I've been so multi-fannish, never really committing to one fandom or another. I haven't even written fanfiction in years. But Inception snuck up on me and changed that. Even though I feel like I don't know what I'm doing, like my characterizations of Arthur and Eames are all over the place and whatever I manage to project onto them that day in that fic, I'm enjoying the ride.

It helps that the other people in the fandom are so awesome. Like you, you have so much enthusiasm that I (the least enthusiastic person about anything) feel it too. *grabs everyone and squishes us together*
