What what?? ARTHUR PUT IN THE NEEDLE FOR EAMES OK EVEN THOUGH EAMES COULD OBVIOUSLY DO IT HIMSELF. He was very obviously concerned about his boyfriend's welfare and wanted to have a tender moment with him before he goes down to the next level. (And the way Arthur was pushing Eames to push the group down the hall despite all their earlier ~antagonism~ suggests to me at least that they have a more intimate history than earlier let on.)

I don't know if I actually believe it, but I really enjoy the idea that they're already together and Arthur just has a very high standard of professionalism. And Cobb trusts him to take care of everything, so could Eames please just pretend during the workday that he doesn't have a boyfriend at all? Which Eames, of course, regards as a challenge (and possibly keeps talking about his nameless boyfriend, and Arthur gets really irritated and Ariadne thinks he's jealous?) And then at the end of the day they go home together and Arthur is all fond and indulgent.
I totally buy they have some sort of history together though not necessarily romantic or sexual (but possibly a one-night encounter type thing), but I like my get-together fics to be futurefics because I really just don't see them together together pre-movie. IDK, I HAVE ALL THESE FEELINGS, BUT I WILL REALLY JUST READ ANY FIC IF IT IS FABULOUS. SO.
