The biggest challenge for me for yuletide this year I think will be figuring out what among my 6 nominations to leave off. Unless they change the rules, you can nominate 6 fandoms but you can only request 4? And I am in love with all of my nominations ( Read more... )

Have you ever seen this? It's like the gayest gay serial killer thing I have ever seen. I kind of love it.

ooh! no! i have not! but i am going to go track it down right now!

(another huge fave GSK film of mine that no one's seen but me is Cruising, where Al Pacino plays this cop on the trail of a gay serial killer, and has to go undercover into the dirty dirty world of the gay scene to track him down. But is Al just roleplaying or is he.... ??? etc etc, it's so cheesy and pseudo-exploitative and great, il it.)

i will be so excited if someone writes you NMH fic, you don't even know. even though the contents of said fic would pretty much have to be ridiculously disturbing/sad in order to capture the source material.

I have all of his albums! I'm not madly in love with him but I don't hate him!

I don't think I've thought about the Vesper Holly books since I was, like, ten, but I'm suddenly feeling nostalgic. I'm not sure if I'll be able to track them down, but if I do, I'll keep in mind that fic is wanted.

NMH! Holland, 1945 is my favourite song from that album. I didn't think that many people knew about them.

they're an indie-band staple! by which I mean, I think that when you start freshman year at Hipster U, you're given a scarf, a water bottle, and a copy of this cd as your 3 must-haves. :D

(she says, while being not-at-all hipster herself, so perhaps Neutral Milk Hotel is more mainstream than we dare believe!)

Holland, 1945 and King of Carrot Flowers have both recently been my favourite song (it's kind of fluid and ever-changing - just now it's "Lovegood" by Ministry of Magic, but I digress). That album is fantastic.

I never realised there was Rope slash on Yuletide. Honestly, it's my favourite Hitchcock film, though I agree it's not technically one of his best. But it does a lot of things I happen to find really interesting. Although I hate the ending.
