I just started my stint at an independent used/antiquarian bookstore in VT as the "Manager of Online Sales". It's not as glorious as it sounds because I'm the only one doing it :-p It definitely requires a lot of heavy lifting, packing, and the usage of sharp things. Hmm...I'm not sure. We use it for Amazon, Abe, and Alibris databases.

It's a local database for booksellers. HomeBase is ABE's. I wish I could be be of actual use beyond that, but I use BookTrakker. :( Sorry.

Good luck on the new job. I'm sorry they didn't tell you about all the heavy lifting, that's one of the first things I tell perspective employees--well, that and about how dirty it can get. Books are quite heavy and can very dusty/dirty if not properly cared for...(she says while currently undergoing treatment for a bizarre blood infection from excessive mold exposure--and I won't event tell you about the "were-book" we found that had more "hair" than me. *shudder*)

Ha ha! You would've thought so if you had seen it. My assistant kept pining for it in some masochistic fantasy, so I pulled it out of our poo-box (that's the techinical terminus for the books we are tossing) and she backed up in horror at the thought of once more being confronted with the "were-book" before I had even opened it to reveal it in it's true glory, despite the fact that she was the one that had expressed the desire to see it again.
