There is lot of us even in our bad memories, Jr.san. You are right in saying they shape us as well, and forgetting them makes us poorer.

I just wish realizing that would make the nightmares stop.

Nightmares try to tell you something, Jr.-san. They might keep coming back as long as you have not understood it.

No...I understand it. It's things from my past that I wish I could change.

[Oh hey, kid she talked to like once who is suddenly speaking words she can completely and utterly identify with.]

Forgetting isn't the answer. It's the memories who make you who you are, right? ...even the bad ones.

*And it only took him a year and a half to say them.*

Yeah. If we forget everything bad that happens to us...we'll never learn what should be important.

*Just in time for more bad memories next week, orz...*

And that's something you can never afford to do.

[A slight smirk.] Look at you, Jr, already talking like an old man. [It's said rather fondly, though. People who've been through hardship grow up quicker than others. Because they just have to if they want to stay alive.]

Hey, who're you calling old? I'm only 29!

*He doesn't sound angry, just indignant. Ukitake is old, he's young, GDI.*

I didn't say you were, only that you were talking like one.

[Also she's 16. Of course you're old.]

No way. Old men are grumpy and have sticks up their asses, unless they're the ones that don't act it.

*Hey, he knows a guy who's well over 6000. THAT is old, not him.*
