I liked this episode too! But I had spent so much time dreading it in theory, and mostly I just think I am so happy to have new eps that I am easily persuaded to lalala over any reservations. I think I have to, or I will need a lead box to sit in myself.

But that ending with Stefan's righteous words backfiring was A+++++++ so I can deal for now.

YES. Stefan's silly face when he realized revenge and not their lurve was what she had fixated on will keep me going on many a sad night.

And he missed the mark again in not predicting her potential desire for revenge. Stefan literally cannot see Elena as anything but an extension of himself, which is why he sucks and is LOL.Very true. Although to be fair, I think Elena does respond to that comforting style in theory, and he was ... trying. Ironically, Elena IS actually following his humanity-less recovery path to the tee if you compare it to his hankering for vengeance on Klaus, so it's so intriguing that he missed it. I think Stefan's giant flaw is actually that he gives his and Elena' ( ... )
