It opens with tests for qualifying for the company, and young An Hai does qualify. Then things pick up when Li Ming gets a request for him, by name, for a job so secret that he has to sign a NDA to hear about it. Cai Yan, too. And Ghazan.
There's a big competition, Immortal Glory, and the government has learned that a secret society is sending in members to compete and get the rewards (including big deals with corporations) for money. They can arrest those with open warrants, but for the remaining eight, they are recruiting top fighters to take them out. The rules will be bent for the choice of competitors and the like, but not broken.
After some intensive training and trying to switch over from deadly combat to competition, they enter it. Fights, bouts, taking out competitors, and wondering whether Ghazan kept his promise all feature
