Hehe! D&D books were so contraband when I was a kid, but I loved the covers. Now and then my brother would snag a copy of The Dragon and I would say the art is amateurish today, but at the time I thought it was pretty good.

Larry Elmore was my favorite - he did the cover for the original red D&D rule books, and a lot of the interior art work. I spent a lot of time staring at the Dragonlance novel covers.
