This year I am doing a reading challenge to read 50 books by authors of color.

So far the project is going very well! I started in March, and here are the first ten books I read.

Any book by Octavia Butler. I haven't found one I didn't like, though I might like Parable of the Sower a little bit more than the others.

Thanks, newwaytowrite! I am especially pleased to be reminded of Gloria Naylor - I haven't read any of her books in a very long time. The other authors you suggest are new to me, so a chance to fall in love with additional fiction is very welcome!
